Northwest Armory, Chicago, IL

Northwest Armory is a listed historic building constructed in 1939. Tripartite was selected by the Capital Development Board to perform the glass block window restoration and structural repairs to the exterior concrete ramp and deck. Extensive structural rebuilding of the plaza and replacement of the waterproofing membrane at the exterior plaza deck has been executed as the first phase to this project.

As part of the second phase, studies including the careful dismantling of existing glass block windows were executed. Extensive search for appropriate glass block replacement required unorthodox material sourcing, as replacement material was not available through standard outlets.

This project required submittal to Illinois Historic Preservation Agency and was designed to The Secretary of Interior's Standards for Treatment of Historic Properties and the Guidelines for Rehabilitation of Historic Buildings.
