Mount Vernon Elementary School,
Chicago, IL

Mount Vernon Elementary School, located on the west side of Chicago, IL is a 1930's brick and terra cotta masonry building requiring widespread interior and exterior renovation.
Our work at the Mount Vernon Elementary School has earned the 2007 Gold Award for Restoration - Excellence in Masonry from the Illinois Indiana Masonry Council.

The exterior masonry repairs included extensive terra cotta restoration, brick cleaning, rebuilding and re-pointing. The towers at the four stair locations were in advanced disrepair, and required replacement of corroded structural steel members along with reconstruction of the masonry walls. The project also included window and door replacement, roof replacement, lintel replacement, storm drainage repairs, wide scale upgrading of the interior finishes and exterior lighting replacement.
