Sayre Language Academy, Chicago, IL

Tripartite led the design team for this $6 million renovation of the Sayre Language Academy. The building is a 1920's masonry and terra cotta building that required widespread exterior and interior renovation and structural repairs.

Accessibility improvements included an exterior brick elevator addition that respects the original detailing of the building. Other ADA modifications included door and hardware replacement, new ramped access to the building, office and bathroom modifications, new wheel chair lift for stage access, hardware replacement and new ADA compliant signage.
Complete exterior renovation included window, door and structural lintel replacement, replacement of corroded structural steel members at the four stair towers, roof replacement, brick and stone masonry and terra cotta restoration, rebuilding of masonry cheek walls and stone and concrete steps, paving replacement, fire alarm and electrical lighting replacement, plumbing and HVAC upgrades and Hazardous Material abatement.
