Medgar Evers School, Chicago, IL This early 1960's Concrete framed Elementary School sits next to a major expressway in Chicago. Long term exposure to pollutants combined with poor initial design mix quality had led to extreme failure of the concrete across the façade. Project work includes exterior structural concrete repair including crack repair, concrete patching with required doweling and full concrete slab replacement, the application of elastomeric concrete finish, brick masonry repair and rebuilding, removal of asbestos-containing facing material and installation of new metal panel facade, small scale roof and sheet metal replacement and the careful coordination and salvaging of existing aluminum window framing and trim. |
